Gusto is a high quality, food lovers paradise.  From early in the morning locals and tourists enjoy the freshest well made coffee and fine cooked organic breakfasts, then cakes, pastries and the most tempting homemade delicacies provide a steady stream of happy customers.  Busy and full at lunchtimes the discerning clientele enjoy savouries of all kinds, often choosing from the extensive range of gourmet groceries, organic meats and pies to take home with them.  Locals come by to pick up bread and cakes made to order with their gluten free offerings being much in demand. Hampers and a stunning, wide range of meals ready to heat and enjoy are also available to purchase.

The current layout seats 30+ inside, with four tables outside, seating 16, but the new owner can alter the seating accordingly.  There is an attractive, wooden weather protected corner with an olive tree and small herb garden outside for customers to enjoy.

The Business

The current trading hours are 7.30am until 4pm, Monday - Friday and 7.30pm until 2pm on Saturdays. The current owners have built up a loyal and regular clientele and there is without doubt immediate poential to increase revenue by further extending the opening hours.  Sunday brunch opening would be very much welcomed in this area and the opportunity to open later in the evenings and extend the food offering would only serve to enhance the steady revenue stream this iconic cafe already enjoys.

About Whangaparaoa

The Whangaparaoa Peninsula is located in the northern North Island, close to the base of the North Auckland Peninsula. Whangaparaoa is Māori for "Bay of Whales", and pods of orca and dolphin are regularly spotted in the waters off the peninsula. While it lies within the semi-rural Rodney District.

Until relatively recently a sparsely inhabited rural area, it is now seen as something of a retreat for the more well-to-do members of Auckland society, the city lying 25 kilometres to the south.

Auckland's Northern Motorway (State Highway One) was extended to Orewa at the end of the 1990s, reducing journey time into the city and making it more popular for commuters. The proposed Penlink roading project (including a bridge over the Wade River from Stanmore Bay to Stillwater) would provide a quicker path between Whangaparaoa and central Auckland.

The peninsula stretches east for 11 kilometres into the waters of the Hauraki Gulf to the north of East Coast Bays. The island of Tiritiri Matangi lies three kilometres off its eastern tip.
